Un integrante de este proyecto socioambiental Sin Alambrados, fue participe principal de una charla brindada a la comunidad en la localidad de Urdampilleta en el mes de Febrero del 2016.

Titulada bajo «Calentamiento global. La huella de Carbono», la disertante Carolina Diaz, quien es Licenciada en Ciencias Ambientales de la Universidad de Buenos Aires, inauguro el ciclo de charlas «Servicio de Información Ciudadana». Este ciclo es brindado por la Biblioteca Popular Sarmiento situada en Urdampilleta, partido de Bolívar de la provincia de Buenos Aires.

Disertación 

El ser humano se autodenomina “la especie más inteligente”, ya que posee características como la capacidad de pensar, razonar, y ser consciente; que le han permitido construir herramientas para transformar su entorno y satisfacer sus necesidades básicas como alimentación, vestido y vivienda. También le han permitido tener una mejor calidad de vida al desarrollar sistemas de cultivo y crianza de animales, medicinas y vacunas.No podemos dejar de considerar que el término de Conciencia Ambiental está ligado fuertemente con la Educación Ambiental, instrumento básico en el desarrollo de las sociedades.

Bajo las premisas anteriormente mencionadas es que el objetivo de la disertación condujo a interiorizar al público presente sobre las causas antropogénicas de este fenómeno del calentamiento global.

El inicio de la misma hizo foco en revisar los conceptos básicos como son las diferencias entre variabilidad climática y cambio climático, donde las primeras son por causas naturales y en las segundas incluyen la actividad humana. A su vez, se planteó qué es el efecto invernadero, un proceso natural favorable para el desarrollo de vida en el planeta, la diversidad de emisiones y los gases que provocan este proceso, como dióxido de carbono, metano y óxido nitroso entre los más importantes.

Avanzada la exposición, la licenciada se centró en el aumento de las concentraciones de dióxido de carbono por fuentes antropogénicas a través de la historia. Demostró a través de diversas fuentes científicas que realmente nos encontramos en un proceso de calentamiento de la superficie terrestre en la cual el hombre es protagonista. Sin dejar de aclarar que existen causas naturales que explican parte de la problemática.

Planteada la problemática, se brindó una propuesta conocida internacional mente sobre la medición del impacto individual a través de la medición de la emisión de gases de efecto invernadero, llamada Huella de Carbono. Esta es una herramienta que se utiliza para poder comparar la huella por individuo versus la media global, proponiendo margenes definitorios sobre las diversas actividades humanas, tanto en forma como en disposición.

Finalizando se enumeraron distintas maneras prácticas para reducir nuestro impacto personal sobre nuestro planeta. Por ejemplo la disminución en la utilización de vehículos, el consumo de carnes, el apagado de artefactos eléctricos en los períodos de no utilización, reducción del uso de papel y de químicos. La disertante recalcó la importancia de estas pequeñas acciones pueden mejorar la salud de la Tierra para las generaciones futuras.

El público presente tuvo su oportunidad y espacio para realizar consultas y para exponer posturas y experiencias al respecto.
