Río Cuarto, La Resistencia

En nuestro andar por la diversidad de regiones que componen a la República Argentina, en sintonía dentro de lo posible de no sufrir los climas extremos, es decir; evitar los veranos calientes del Litoral y los inviernos crudos de la Patagonia, es que ese esquivar se reduce en posibilidades y a la vez permite otras.  Y con la decisión de trasladarse en una velocidad con mayor vinculación a lo que sucede en cada espacio y encuentro con personas, que por sobre una agenda o fechas a cumplir que requieren de dinamismo. Todo esto nos ha llevado a encontrarnos en la zona central del país: el norte de la Patagonia, con La Pampa inundada bajo miles de hectáreas de agua con oleaje de mar, desde allí tomamos el sur de Córdoba, en las puertas de Huinca Renancó. La ruta 35 nos llevaba hacia el ojo del huracán, desde algún punto de vista posible.

Río Cuarto, ciudad donde las publicidades callejeras se engalanan con  carteles que dicen algo así como “Cómprese su departamento, páguelo con toneladas de soja”. No estamos en contra del trueque, todo lo contrario: pero dentro de un marco que los objetos y/o bienes intercambiados estén en sintonía con un desarrollo lo más humano y sostenible posible.  En este contexto, nos encontramos con algunos integrantes de la Asamblea de Río Cuarto Sin Agrotóxicos. Ésta es reconocida en nuestro país por la resistencia a la instalación de una planta de semillas por parte de la empresa Monsanto.  Desde el año 2012 cuando tuvieron la noticia de la pretención de Monsanto de instalarse en esta ciudad, comenzaron una serie de acciones administraivas y directivas para visibilizar y rechazar a la nefasta empresa en Río Cuarto. Así el 30 de noviembre del 2012 recibieron el apoyo de la Universidad Nacional de Río Cuarto. A través de la resolución 322/12 el Consejo Superior se expendía en contra de la instalación de Monsanto en Río Cuarto y también en la localidad de Malvinas Argentinas.  De todas maneras Monsanto comenzó la construcción de la planta y la presentación de notas en el Municipio a través de la empresa local de ventas de semillas y agrotóxicos llamada Focseed. La Asamblea siguió persistente y se presentó a audiencias y reuniones durante todo el 2013 con el apoyo de la UNRC, principalmente con la participación del Observatorio de Conflictos Socioambientales y el Centro Agroecológico y la defensoría del pueblo. En Mayo del 2014 Monsanto judicializa la resolución. Entre idas y vueltas se llegó al fallo de Septiembre del corriente año que le permite a Monsanto reconducir el proceso y presentar una demanda en los tribunales locales. Ante esta situación la Asamblea Río Cuarto sin Agrotóxicos sigue plantándose por la vida, impulsando el Proyecto Río Cuarto Agroecológico, con el que vienen trabajando también desde el 2013.

 “Defenderemos en las calles, nuestro lugar de resistencia, las victorias logradas y seguiremos esparciendo semillas libres, soberanas, alimenticias y nativas”. Asamblea Río Cuarto sin Agrotóxicos.

Wichan Ranquen

Es un vivero de árboles nativos de la ecorregión del espinal de nuestro país. Se crea en el 1999 y desde entonces ha sido una organización de base abocada a la lucha por la conservación de la flora nativa y la biodiverdidad.

Nos reciben Noé y Meli, y nos cuentan que hoy, el vivero consta con ocho integrantes. Lo más importante que han logrado como grupo fue la plantación de 150 individuos de árboles nativos en una escuela de una zona marginal de la ciudad de Río Cuarto, a la cual asisten 35 alumnos. La escuela tiene 72 hectáreas y gran parte de su superficie tiene una huerta. Lo cuentan muy orgullosos.

Con la velocidad de crecimiento de un bosque, este vivero en la región periurbana de Río Cuarto, cultiva un espacio nuevo para el barrio, generando nuevos aires que los vecinos respiran de a poco. Los niños se reúnen a jugar en la plaza que este vivero ha gestionado con el Municipio, donde se visualizan tintes muy lejanos de esas plazas modernas que predomina el cemento y estructuras de hierro de colores. Aquí el verde y el marrón, son las dos patas de una realidad que camina a pasos firmes, con base, con reunión, con charla, con cara a cara, con mate y con muchas más posibilidades que solo encuentran los que se ponen de acuerdo en cambiar, o mejorar lo que se requiera.

Wichan Ranquen no es un vivero convencional. En él se puede observar  un pequeña huerta circular, con un algarrobo en el centro, que no solo es símbolo de veneración sino que el algarrobo al ser una leguminosa proporciona nitrógeno a su alrededor. En el vivero, también, se puede contemplar los plantines de Poleo, Algarrobo, Chañar, Fumo brano, Piquillín, Moradillo, Brea, Espinilo, Aguaribay. Un árbol simbólico para los integrantes del vivero es un algarrobo plantado por ellos en el año 2007, en la Plaza Roca del centro de la ciudad.

Wichan Ranquen no tiene como únicos objetivos la venta  de los árboles nativos para la autogestión y la concientización de su importancia de mantener en pie estos árboles, sino que también ha donado, como hemos contado anteriormente, parte de su reproducción. Pero a su vez, sucede algo más allí en el vivero. Asociación Civil Semilla Danzante, es un proyecto de educación alternativa de gestión social, donde hoy funciona un jardín de infantes, con el proyecto de abrir sus puertas para primaria, secundaria y terciaria. En el centro del único edificio construido (bioconstrucción) se pueden ver pequeñas mesas y sillas, fuera de patrones conocidos en cada aula de la educación convencional. Aquí las formas nuevas y los fuera de serie se visualizan y manifiestan a razón de las emociones y el respirar de cada presente allí, Semilla Danzante es un espacio de construcción colectiva y de trabajo comunitario (con el apoyo de las profesoras  Analía Argarañas y Viviana Corbari), en donde cada ser participa de manera activa, pulsado por niños, mujeres y hombres en la búsqueda de vínculos de respeto con uno mismo, los otros y la naturaleza.

La Libertad

La Libertad es una chacra, que funciona desde el 2011, se ubica a las afueras de la ciudad y consta de tres hectáreas. Allí nos reciben Willy y Laura.

Huerta agroecológica circular

Laura se va a la ciudad a vender la panificación realizada esa madrugada y Willy nos acompaña a realizar la recorrida por el lugar. Lo primero que nos detiene la curiosidad son los marlos de diferentes colores de granos. Tienen cinco variedades  de maíz, que vienen recolectando desde el 2003: Maíz negro de Iruya, Maíz morado, maíz blanco, maíz Santa Cruz de Bolivia. La Libertad destina tres cuartos de hectárea a estos cultivos (35 surcos de 30 metros) y utilizan la Biodinámica para la siembra de cada uno de ellos, inteligentemente, para que en el momento de la polinización no se crucen las distintas variedades.

Luego recorrimos los frutales: 8 variedades de durazno, cerezos, ciruelos, damascos, membrillos, manzanos, nogales, almendros, cítricos. Willy le dedica mucho tiempo al cuidado de cada uno de estos árboles. En ese momento, se los podía apreciar con Pasta Biodinámica (arcilla, compost, ceniza, propolio, arena y bosta) que había sido colocada en el invierno sobre los frutales. Posteriormente, transitamos por la enorme huerta circular, al igual que vimos en Wichan Ranquen, con un algarrobo en su centro. Así, La Libertad todos los miércoles extrae de sus cosechas entre 15 a 20 bolsones de frutas y verduras para vender.

   ¡Importante detalle! Cuando recorremos una granja agroecológica y/o biodinámica, la pregunta que siempre surge es cómo afecta la aplicación de agroquímicos del vecino (deriva). En este caso, La Libertad ha acordado con el vecino del único campo aledaño:  a alquilarle las tres hectáreas siguientes sin producir (barrera buffer) con el compromiso de que él dejara las tres hectáreas subsiguientes sin fumigar.  Ambos consideran un buen acuerdo que se enmarca en los objetivos disimiles y a la vez un espíritu de convivir.
